Why Not Build Bridges Over The Rio Grande, Instead Of A Wall?
Kellyanne Conway recently claimed that the Border Patrol is "diving into the Rio Grande to save people who are drowning." Let's take her dubious claims at face value. If lots of people are drowning while trying to cross the Rio Grande, shouldn't we build a bridge? or some bridges?
Sure, there are plenty of bridges. But if people are drowning we probably have an emergency. We could declare a national emergency and build more bridges. Instead we have a national emergency to build a wall. Doesn't really make much sense, does it?
